Press Release Dexcom ONE – one change for better diabetes control

Bucharest – November 23, 2022 DexCom, Inc. (NASDAQ:DXCM) A new CGM system, called Dexcom ONE, which uses a small wearable sensor and transmitter to measure and send real-time glucose values to a compatible smart phone† or receiver‖, is available today in Romania, through the official partner Deyan Kraft Medical, the company that owns the brand CGM Diabetes Romania.

From November 23, 2022 –  Patients with diabetes from Romania can use the new CGM – Continuous Real-Time Glucose Monitoring System

The revolutionary new CGM eliminates the need for painful finger pricks* and gives patients a smarter, more efficient and easier-to-use way to manage their diabetes

The new smart CGM system, available today in Romania, is called Dexcom ONE and uses a small sensor and transmitter to continuously measure and send glucose values in real time to a compatible smartphone* or optional receiver via the dedicated Dexcom ONE app, eliminating the need for painful pricking for periodic glucose testing. Users also receive alerts on their smartphone or receiver when glucose levels rise or fall too much or too fast.

Speaking on behalf of Dexcom, Alex Moussa, General Manager and Senior Vice President, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) said: “At Dexcom, we are committed to making continuous glucose monitoring more accessible to people with diabetes. The arrival of the Dexcom ONE device in Romania ensures greater availability of devices for continuous measurement to people with diabetes, and gives them a more complete insight into glucose level values and trends for better diabetes management, ultimately enabling a better quality of life.”

The innovative device sends all the information to a single app, which displays trend arrows to indicate the speed and direction glucose levels are heading, making treatment decisions easier and helping people with diabetes avoid potentially dangerous events such as hypo or hyperglycemia

“For many years, blood glucose testing has been an essential component of diabetes self-management. However, self-monitoring, which can sometimes mean testing finger glucose up to ten or more times a day, can be time-consuming, painful and difficult to do on a busy day.

With the Dexcom ONE CGM system, people with diabetes now have the freedom to live without painful finger pricks* and can rely on the Dexcom ONE CGM system’s information to make treatment decisions, allowing for more personalized and effective self-management.” says Prof. Univ. Dr. Gabriela Radulian, President of the Romanian Society of Diabetes, Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases.

The CGM Dexcom ONE system can be used by people with diabetes ages two years and older and has a 10-day continuous use time, offering the flexibility of 3 wearable places. It’s almost invisible under clothing and is also waterproof.

The CGM Dexcom ONE system has exceptional accuracy, requiring no calibration to make a treatment decision. This unique quality of the CGM Dexcom ONE system truly simplifies the life of any person suffering from diabetes.

Actor and judge on Romania’s Got Talent, Dragos Bucur, has Type 1 diabetes and is one of the first people in Romania to start using Dexcom ONE. He said: “I have had diabetes for 20 years and in the last 4-5 years CGM sensors have become indispensable in my treatment. I am very happy for the launch of Dexcom ONE because it is a real help in our lives of diabetics”

Collaboration with Dexcom, Inc. and the launch of the new Dexcom ONE CGM system are an honor and a huge responsibility for our company, but more than anything, they are a big win for people with diabetes in Romania.  In today’s climate, where modern technologies play an increasingly important role in diabetes management, we continuously contribute to the acceleration of the solutions offered.

We are pleased to partner with Dexcom to provide people with diabetes in Romania with the new Dexcom ONE CGM, a unique and affordable device that will take us one step closer to optimal diabetes control.  This partnership also means more responsibility towards the community of people with diabetes in Romania, for whom we work every day, to facilitate access to the most revolutionary technologies and the most innovative devices. The next steps will certainly be directed towards healthcare professionals to expand the availability and facilitate the widespread access of the new CGM Dexcom ONE system” says Radu Putere, Founder & CEO of Deyan Kraft Medical, the company that owns the brand CGM Diabet Romania, the official distributor of Dexcom in Romania.
